Purple Day Every Day has a cool resource  to explore! It's The Lavender Project.  What is it exactly? Purchase some lavender (at your nearest gardening shop or online supplier)  and plant some lavender then take a photo of yourself to help raise awareness. Sounds simple doesn't it? Well, if you have a "dead thumb", no worries. There are some amazing lavender farms to explore in person or online. Here are a few:

A friendly reminder Spring Ahead is coming. Don't forget to adjust your clocks and your body to it. Whether you have to go to bed early or make sure you take your meds at the right time, it's important to prepare for Spring Ahead. 

Next week, we enter the month of March and prepare for Purple Day on March 26th. Of course, the next thing to come is turning the clock ahead one hour. Getting enough rest and making sure you take your medications is essential.  Make sure you also have a good routine for bedtime and getting up in the morning. Do you have a favorite film about epilepsy? What in the film resonates most about your journey with epilepsy?

Recently, I sat in the optometrist’s office for an eye appointment. Lately, I have experienced an increase in ocular migraines. My left eye tends to swell up and then close after seeing an aura of color, usually in the dark blue, green, or sometimes yellow light. I admit I hadn’t gotten a new pair of glasses in six years. When I met the optometrist, it was wonderful. After describing my history, she informed me she did her thesis on epilepsy and migraines with colored lenses. Starting on my journey twenty three years ago, only a handful of doctors understood the benefits of colored lenses for people with photosensitive epilepsy and ocular migraines. One happened to be my optometrist’s mentor, my former opthlamologist also affected by epilepsy. He did a seminar on epilepsy and colored lenses. How cool is that?
