October is a great season for plums. Plums make a delicious flavor for tea. To create a sumptuous, full bodied tea experience, you will need some good plums, tasty tea (blueberry Roobis goes well with it) and hot water to create a memorable sip of tea.
Plum Tea
Ingredients:
3 plums, diced and cored
1/2 tsp loose leaf blueberry roobis tea (you can find some online or go to your local tea shop and request some)
3 cups boiled water
1/2 cup honey, optional
1/4 tsp ginger, if desired
Tea Strainer
Tea Pot
Instructions
1. Place diced plums into a medium saucepan, add 1/4 cup water and cook down on medium heat until soft for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Add honey and ginger if desired. Remove from heat.
2. In tea pot, place tea strainer on top. Add 1/2 tsp loose leaf blueberry Roobis tea. Slowly pour hot tea through the strainer. Let tea steep for 5 minutes. Remove strainer. Pour tea into individual tea cups. Add plums into each cup.
3. Serve tea. Any remaining fruit can be preserved and turned into plum jam (a future post).
Enjoy!
Cheers to a good tea time.
