After a long, hard wait, it's amazing to see migraine glasses finally being seen!
Two weeks ago, the FDA approved of Avulux becoming the first migraine glasses as a novel medical device! The company De Novo is making access to migraine glasses better. It is amazing to see strides forward for migaineurs and epilepsy warriors to have life open up at last. Photophobia is a commonly ignored and often forgotten symptom in migraineurs and epilepsy warriors alike. The most common light trigger light colors tend to be red and blue. Sitting in a restaurant and out in public when you are light sensitive, especially in sunlight can hurt. A classroom with bright fluorescents? Awful! Avulux glasses use green light technology to calm the mind against red, blue, and amber wavelengths. Certain migraine medications and even seizure medications can cause photophobia or sensitivity to light. Standard pharmaceutical medications can't always relieve the symptoms. The goal of Avulux is to reduce the number of migraines in everyday life. It won't be a total replacement for migraine medication; it can't stop migraines triggered by hormones, the weather, or certain foods.
